The eighth collaboration between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, the satiric comedy Dark Shadows, is a somewhat schizophrenic comedy based on the horror TV soap opera from the 1970s.

SHAWN

Director and film provocatureTim Burtoneven at his worst is always interesting, except for that Planet of the Apes movie. Once again he teams with his go to guy Johnny Depp and the results are more mixed than a bag of nuts.

RUSS

Depp is terrific, demonstrating the deft comic timing weve come to expect from him. But the movies blend of humor and horror seems a bit awkward and belabored this time out.Depps charisma helps a lot, but Dark Shadows isnt the campy fun it should have been.

I agree. The blend of humor and horror never worked and the movie seemed to be missing a bit of swagger. Should have been so much more fun and intense. A lot more intense and serious.Instead it almost seems like an extended SNL skit.The only extra material on the DVD release will be a a single featurette.The Blu-ray/DVD Combo release will also include a Maximum Movie Mode with additional features, plus deleted scenes.

Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Michelle Pfeiffer star in the well made Hollywood melodrama, People Like Us. Pine plays a slick salesman who discovers a lot about himself when he learns that his late father had a second family he knew nothing about.

SHAWN

People Like Us is a surprisingly effective and slightly moving movie.

RUSS

Fine performances and smart dialogue give it a leg up on other soapers. Take Kleenex.

SHAWN

Agreed and agreed. Not sure about the tissue. But overall a slightly better than average movie.

The Blu Ray Diamond Edition of Disneys 1950 classic looks great and has lots of cool extras. It will take a few days to get the catchy tunes out of your head.

This classic holds up well. Very well. I love old school animation. And Disney did it well.there are a ton of extras but mostly technical behind the scenes stuff. Was expecting more fun stuff for the kids. Whats up with catering more to film nerds than the kiddies? Come on man! Disney whiffs with this one in the extras department.

Eric McCormack from TVs Will and Grace stars in the dim and poorly paced horror flick, Barricade. The movies three main characters are trapped in a snow-bound rural cabin with an unknown entity. You may feel trapped, too.

So very well said about this WWE production. Yes, the WWE is producing horror films now.I totally felt trapped by the films lackluster vibe. For a horror movie it lacked the shock and jolt that great horror movies have like this years The Cabin in the Woods which is a much better horror flick.Theextrasare fantastic andbetter than thefilm itself. Especially the feature that shows how they transformed a ski resort into the films set.
