Extras sought for scenes in Johnny Depp's "Lone Ranger" in southern Colorado

CREEDE Get out your boots and hats. A film casting company is recruiting possible extras in Colorado for a Disney remake of the classic story "The Lone Ranger."

The Southern Colorado Film Commission said the decision to use the central Colorado mining town of Creede is not final, but up to five scenes could be filmed in the valley.

According to The Pueblo Chieftain, the remake will feature Johnny Depp. If a deal is reached, it would be the first major studio production in the valley since parts of the 1994 movie "Wyatt Earp" were filmed in Conejos County.

Primary filming for the movie begins this month in New Mexico. The Associated Press
