Morgan Freeman Joins Johnny Depp Sci-Fi Film 'Transcendence'

Morgan Freeman will soon join Johnny Depp in "Transcendence," the directorial debut of Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister, Alcon Entertainment announced on Thursday.

Freeman joins a cast that also includes Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall and Kate Mara. The actor appeared in all three of Christopher Nolan's Batman films, which Pfister served as the cinematographer on.

Nolan is executive producing "Transcendence" with his wife Emma Thomas and Aaron Ryder.

Principal photography of the film will begin next month in Los Angeles
