Morgan Freeman to star in Transcendence

Morgan Freeman is set to star alongside Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany and Rebecca Hall in 'Transcendence', which will see Freeman teaming up with his 'Dark Knight Rises' director Christopher Nolan.

Nolan will be an executive producer on the project, while 'Inception' cinematographer Wally Pfister - who Freeman worked with on the 'Batman' franchise - will make his directorial debut.

According to Variety, plot details are being kept under wraps but Jack Paglen has penned the script, and Annie Marter has developed the screenplay.

Marter will also produce the movie alongside Kate Cohen and David Valdes, and Alcon Entertainment's Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.

Emma Thomas and Aaron Ryder will join Nolan as executive producers.

The 'Shawshank Redemption' star is currently filming 'Last Vegas' - a comedy about four friends in their 60s who are throwing a bachelor party in Las Vegas because one of them if getting married - alongside Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro and Kevin Kline.

Freeman can be seen in thriller 'Now You See Me' next month alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo and Isla Fisher.
