Channeling just a little bit of the goofiness that he brought to Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp gives his take on the Native American character Tonto in the latest trailer for The Lone Ranger . In the latest clip for director Gore Verbinskis adaptation of the classic Western series, Tonto tells Texas Ranger John Reid ( The Social Network s Armie Hammer ) that he had believed the lawman dead and buried him, only to see him come back from the other side. Naturally, the two team up to fight for justice, with Depps deadpan Tonto insisting that the soon-to-be Lone Ranger shield his face with a mask. People think you are dead? Better to stay that way, Depp advises. There come a time when good man must wear mask. Verbinski and Depp, of course, worked together on the Pirates of the Caribbean flicks, and it looks like their chemistry has returned here albeit in a Western and with a character that could be controversial. The story of Terry Gilliams The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is one of the all-time great Hollywood horror tales. Set to be a literary fantasy starring Johnny Depp and Jean Rochefort, the film encountered egregious problems including a set-destroying hailstorm and a serious back injury that sent Rochefort home that the entire production was halted and eventually cancelled. The legendarily awful production has actually been immortalized in the documentary Lost in La Mancha . Washington, Dec 10 (ANI) Johnny Depp and Jennifer Love Hewitt are re-imagining stories, both classic and bizarre, in their upcoming movies. According to Deadline.com, Depp will help give life to Miguel de Cervantes's famed character Don Quixote in a modern-day film for Disney, People magazine reported. The actor is set to produce the movie about the hero of La Mancha, but no word yet on whether he'll be acting in the project. Meanwhile, Hewitt will executive produce a Lifetime movie based on a post from Heather Gattuccio's blog Derfwad Manor. In the blog post, the happily married mother dreams of polygamy with A-list stars. The movie tells a new version of the story of a bored homemaker's fictional blog about her own polygamy but when she starts getting noticed for her online presence, she must keep up the charade. --ANI

The Irish Independent reports on the recording of the tune, which dates all the way back to 1885 when it was reportedly first sung on a ship bound for America. The song has already been recorded by other artists including Bob Dylan, The Dubliners, and even The Pogues. Depp and MacGowans recording of the tune will be included in the February release of Of Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys.
