Johnny Depp to receive CFDA Fashion Icon award

Johnny Depp is due to be honoured by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, it has been reported.

WENN reports that the 48-year-old star will receive a 'Fashion Icon' award from the prestigious group, making him the first male to be given the honour.

Other winners of the Fashion Icon award have included Lady GaGa, Sarah Jessica Parker, Iman, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.

The awards ceremony will be held on June 4 in New York, and other guests will include Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, whose The Row collection has earned them nominations for 'Designer of the Year'.

Johnny Depp is currently filming a movie adaptation of The Lone Ranger, alongside Armie Hammer.

His upcoming! Tim Burton-directed horror comedy Dark Shadows is due for release later this spring.
