'Dark Shadows' trailer: Johnny Depp stars as vampire Barnabas Collins

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's Dark Shadows has released its first trailer.

Based on the '60s gothic horror soap opera, the movie sees Depp take on the role of vampire Barnabas Collins as he encounters werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

Burton's Batman Returns star Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter are among the Dark Shadows cast, which also features Chloe Moretz, Eva Green and Jonny Lee Miller.

The film marks the eighth collaboration between Depp and Burton, who began their working relationship with Edward Scissorhands in 1990.

Dark Shadows opens in cinemas on May 11.
