Johnny Depp dating Amber Heard after she drops girlfriend: Favorite people

More proof, as if it were needed, that celebrities are a different kind of people.

Actress Amber Heard has dumped her girlfriend, artist/photographer Tasya van Ree. And Heard, 26, left her because there's a budding romance between Heard and her "Rum Diaries" co-star, Johnny Depp, 49.

The Heard-Depp relationship, not too surprisingly, reportedly played a role both in Heard's breakup with van Ree and Depp's decision to leave his girlfriend of 14 years (and mother of his two children), Vanessa Paradis.

Several days after the Depp split was announced, E! News reported he had bought a horse -- yes, a horse -- for Heard.

Sagan's personal papers

Seth MacFarlane has written a check to the Library of Congress that was in turn used to acquire the personal papers of scientist and astronomer Carl Sagan.

"All I did was write a check, but it's something that was, to me, worth every penny," MacFarlane told The Associated Press. "He's a man whose life's work should be accessible to everybody."

MacFarlane ("Ted," "Family Guy") met Sagan's widow and collaborator, Ann Druyan, at! an even t a few years ago, and they agreed to collaborate on a follow-up to "Cosmos," Sagan's acclaimed 1980 miniseries, with MacFarlane serving as producer. Astrophysicst Neil deGrasse Tyson will host the series, which is scheduled to begin production this fall.

Kardashian witnessed a water birth and said, according to TMZ.com, that it looked "horrific" and "brutally painful."

Instead, she'll have her child with Scott Disick in a (no doubt quite expensive) hospital suite, complete with epidural.
