Johnny Depp Remaking Edward Scissorhands? Depp To Reprise Role On Family Guy

Johnny Depp's best film hairdo is coming back. The actor, who recently split from his mate of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, is reprising his title role from "Edward Scissorhands" -- in cartoon form.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Depp will return to his role from the 1990 Tim Burton film in an coming episode of Fox's hit animated comedy, "Family Guy."

Depp's role in the episode for season 11 of the animated series is only a cameo. He is expected to appear in one of the "cutaway gags" featured frequently on the show.

"When he was in the booth, he said that he felt like he hadn't done that voice since he did it in front of the camera," "Family Guy" executive producer Mark Hentemann revealed to EW. "He was able to snap right back into Edward Scissorhands once we pulled up a clip from the movie. ... He was amazing - and demonstrated extraordinary patience with all the fawning women in our office who swarmed him."

The Tim Burton movie grossed more than $87 million when it was released in 1990. "Edward Scissorhands" told the story about a young man with scissors for hands that had been created by the inventor, and then taken into a suburban family after years of living in solitude.
