Johnny Depp finally took up Alice Cooper's offer to join the rocker's band on Thursday night at a show in Los Angeles.

Cooper has often praised the actor for his guitar skills and offered him a regular slot in his band after Depp impressed him during an appearance at a Cooper show in London last year.

The rocker said, "Johnny came to Hollywood to play guitar. He didn't come as an actor at all... I always say to him, 'If you really want to go out on tour, let me know and you can come with us.' I wouldn't be surprised if he did."

And Cooper's premonition became reality at the Orpheum Theatre on Thursday when Depp joined his pal onstage and stuck around to play on several covers, beginning with Cooper's rendition of The Doors' "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" and the Beatles' "Revolution."

Cooper and Depp were also onstage together for the set-ending "School's Out" anthem.
