Disney closes deal for Johnny Depp-produced Don Quixote pitch

The Man of La Mancha is back.
With Johnny Depp jumping on and off board director Terry Gilliams troubled, long-planned film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote for years, now the actor is instead plunging his own hands into the Don Quixote mix.
EW confirms that Disney has closed a deal for an untitled pitch, a modern take on Miguel de Cervantes famed novelDon Quixote, to be written by Jeff Morris andwriter-director Steve Pink,and produced by Depp and his sister Christi Dembrowskis company Infinitum Nihil. Deadline first reported the news.Pink and Morris have worked together on the as yet-unmade True Memoirs Of An International Assassin, which Pink is attached to direct and Morris wrote. Pink recently completed filming a remake of 1980s film About Last Night, based on a David Mamet play, starring Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, and Joy Bryant. Infinitum Nihil has also produced Depp vehicles Dark Shadows, The Rum Diary, upcoming The Lone Ranger, and Martin Scorseses Hugo.
