London, May 21 : Johnny Depp has gone sober for the Hollywood remake of his new film 'The Lone Ranger' to get into the movie's character, Tonto.

The 48-year-old actor made the sacrifice for the western, which is directed by Gore Ve! rbinski and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

"Tonto doesn't drink, so Johnny hasn't been drinking," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.

The film stars Armie Hammer in the lead role.

Depp had earlier revealed that he partied hard in the 90s to try and deal with his meteoric ascent to superstardom. (ANI)
