Vanessa Paradis is content with the family set up she's created with partner Johnny Depp.

The French star appreciates the simple things in life and takes pride in the home-made gifts her children Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 10, give her.

'One of the first things my son gave me was a necklace he made out of macaroni,' says Vanessa, 39.

'I wore it everywhere.'

Vanessa has forged a successful career as an actress, singer and model since releasing her debut single at the age of 14 while Johnny, 48, is one of the most sought-after men in Hollywood.

But Vanessa insists the couple don't need expensive items to make them happy.

'The truly precious things will always take you back to the moment that you were given them, and you never forget the emotion that went along with them,' Vanessa tells Live.

'I wouldn't swap that macaroni necklace for all the rubies in the world.'
