Bradley Cooper, Johnny Depp Set for Hot New Roles (& More Casting News)

Spy satellites and evil forces are just a few of the elements that will be found in complex new roles for Bradley Cooper and Johnny Depp.

Cooper has been tapped to join Emma Stone in Cameron Crowe's new film, Deep Tiki a film that combines Hawaiian mythical folklore, love and war Deadline.com reports.

Depp has signed on to play the lead role in Transcendence, will will mark the directorial debut of Inception cinematographer Wally Pfister, set to begin shooting next year, the Hollywood Reporter says. The plot has Depp's character being sucked into an evil computer that he created.

Hugh Grant is set to star in an as-yet untitled romantic come! dy directed by Marc Lawrence, THR reports. He'll play Ray Michaels, a former fixture among the Hollywood set turned down-on-his-luck teacher. Despite his fall from grace, love is still in the cards for Michaels when he falls for a single mom going back to school.

Michael Fassbender will star in the movie adaptation of the mega video game franchise Assassin's Creed. The Ubisoft and New Regency production will take on the game's historical science fiction premise, THR reports.

HBO and Harpo Films are teaming up to bring Oprah Winfrey's vision to the small screen. Winfrey's drama will focus on the trials of the first black president of a prestigious college and his family, THR reports.
