Johnny Depp To Become 'Visionary' Publisher
Johnny Depp already has a few strings to his bow, he's a musician who's played with Oasis, he's one of the world's most bankable actors and now he's taking a step into the world of book publishing.
Depp is starting his own book imprint, which will be part of HarperCollins Publishers, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.
The imprint will have the same name as his production company, Infinitum Nihil, meaning 'Nothing Is Forever' in Latin.
According to the BBC, HarperCollins said that the 'Pirates of the Carribean' star is looking for "authentic, outspoken and visionary ideas and voices" to publish under the name.
In a statement released by the publishing behemoth, Johnny said, "I pledge, on behalf of Infinitum Nihil, that we will do our best to deliver publications worthy of peoples' time, of peoples' concern, publications that might ordinarily never have breached the parapet."
The star added: "For this dream realised, we would like to salute HarperCollins for their faith in us and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together."
In January 2013, Infinitum Nihil will publish 'House of the Earth', a novel by country legend Woody Guthrie, the man who inspired Bob Dylan as a musician. Guthrie wrote the novel in 1947, but it has just been discovered.
Dylan himself will join historian Douglas Brinkley in editing the novel.
