Johnny Depp 'holds hands' with Vanessa Paradis on day out with their children in France

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis were very affectionate towards each other when they met up at their mansion in the south of France last month.

The former couple made an effort to be friendly during a day out with their children Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 10, at the local Plan de la Tour market.

'They were joking around,' says a local.

'At one point, Johnny held Vanessa's hand!'

Johnny, 49, and 39-year-old Vanessa announced they'd split 'amicably' after 14 years together in June.

While it looks as though the pair have managed to stay on reasonably good terms, a friend says they aren't planning on getting back together.

'They were both relieved they got along well,' an insider tells Us Weekly.

'They are looking forward, not backward.'
