Johnny Depp to earn 60 million for new 'Pirates' movie?

Johnny Depp is reportedly on board for a new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie.

According to The Sun, the actor will earn "around 60 million" to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. The actor was paid a rumoured 35 million for the most recent movie in the fantasy franchise, 2011's On Stranger Tides. Scroll down to watch the trailer.

The fifth Pirates film reportedly forms part of Depp's new long-term career plan. An industry source is said to have told the tabloid: "Johnny is being very careful he does not sign on for too many films. He doesn't want to ruin his career with overexposure like John Travolta or Nic Cage did. This huge deal for Pirates means he will be able to pick his other roles very carefully on the strength of their script rather than their salary."

Depp first appeared as Sparrow in 2003's Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl and has since reprised the role in three sequels. He famously based his portrayal of the slurring seafarer on Keith Richards, who later endorsed the performance by playing Sparrow's father, Captain Teague, in the two most recent Pirates movies.

In June (2012), Depp and Vanessa Paradis ann! ounced that they had "amicably separated" after 14 years as an item. The former couple have two children together, 12-year-old Lily Rose and 10-year-old Jack.

Depp was last seen on screen earlier this year (2012) in Tim Burton's big screen remake of 1960s soap opera Dark Shadows. He recently reteamed with Pirates Of The Caribbean director Gore Verbinski to shoot a new Western film called Lone Ranger, which is due for release in July 2013.
