Johnny Depp on tour

Rocker Alice Cooper says it wouldn't surprise him if his actor friend Johnny Depp joined him on tour.

Cooper, 64, has revealed that he's invited Depp on tour during a live web chat with UK daily The Sun.

In June, Depp played guitar onstage with Cooper at the 100 Club on Oxford Street in London.

''Johnny came to Hollywood to play guitar. He didn't come as an actor at all,'' Cooper said about Depp's love of music.

''I always say to him, 'If you really want to go out on tour, let me know and you can come with us' - I wouldn't be surprised if he did,'' he said.

During the interview Cooper also explained why he describes Lady Gaga as the female version of him.

''She (Gaga) reinvented herself and created a character the way I created Alice,'' he told The Sun.

The shock rocker, known for his horror-show stage antics, recently covered Lady Gaga's Born This Way during his set at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee.

Cooper has been playing a series of live gigs across the UK while promoting his forthcoming Halloween Night Of Fear III tour.
