Johnny Depp scores round in legal battle over Iggy Pop concert melee
Score one for Johnny Depp. The Pirates of the Caribbean star got good news yesterday in a lawsuit filed against him by a fan who claimed she was roughed up by Depps security detail at a Los Angeles rock show last year. LA Superior Court judge Michael Johnson ruled that the woman who sued as Jane Doe to protect her identity will have to reveal her name if she wants to pursue the case. Johnson said her complaint alleges physical battery, but not allegations concerning sexual activity or private conduct that courts have recognized as exceptional [which would allow her to remain anonymous], according to court papers. The disabled woman, whos 52, claimed she got into a confrontation with Depps entourage and Live Nation security as she tried to get to her seat in a VIP section at an Iggy Pop show at the Hollywood Palladium. She claimed security handcuffed her, ripped away her cellphone and dragged her, exposing her buttocks. The judge gave her 20 days to disclose her name in the case or drop it.
